Bikepark Semmering was the venue for the Austrian Nationals 2011. It was the race where Markus Pekoll tried to defend his national title on the home track of his biggest competitor Boris Tetzlaff.
The MS EVIL RACING team was on site with the full setup and with the whole crew to give Markus the best support to defend his title. The week before the race was fun and gives us a lot of testing for suspension setup and tires for the upcoming races. The bikepark at Semmering offered us best conditions to do that and the riders really liked the courses build by their motivated crew around Markus and Philipp.
After a view days with nice weather and good riding the conditions turned to be a nightmare on Saturday for seeding runs. On Friday really bad weather with thunderstorms arrived, which made the track a kind of tricky.
The seeding runs were a benchmark for most of the riders and so there were pushing hard to set some good times. The MS EVIL RACING crew was just focused on the race run and didn’t care too much about seeding and semifinals runs. After some decent runs, Brook, Markus, Filip, Wyn and Luke were pushing hard and rotate in the hotseat. Unfortunately Brook crashed in the second last corner and Markus remains in the hotseat. Last rider to go was Boris Tetzlaff and even he had a decent run he was not able to beat the time of Markus.
