Next destination after the stop in Andorra was Fort William in Scottland. Usually a trip with a distance of more than 1000 kilometers isn’t too much fun, but with the bus we have a big advantage and somehow it feels like you travel around Europe in your living room.
Fort William shows pretty new conditions for everybody as nobody was racing there on a try track before. Matti and JD had some good trainings run, but in the end Matti crashed hard and needed to go back to Austria to see some specialists for his knee. JD had a flat in his qualifying run and so he couldn’t make it in the top 80.
So it was again on Anneke and Mio to go for the top results. Anneke arrived in Fort William with a bad cold and she flated in her qualifying run too, but she could make it in the finals of the 4X race. In the end she got 3rd and was able to protect her leader jersey.
The girls DH race was influenced by a big confusion during the seeding runs after Rachel Atherton crashed and the race got stopped. Mio qualified top 20 and so she started the women DH finals. After she came down she was in the hot seat for while and just got beaten by Tracey Moseley, Rachel Atherton and Sabrina Jonnier.
Mio got 4th and showed a good form for the coming world championships in Val die Sole.
